Caine, I just restarted your game with the same settings as last time - it is no problem for me to do. I was working off the email you sent me tho, and had not seen this message. Rechecked your email and there was no attached map file. Do you want to send that to me and have me restart again? Or just go with what you've got. It's no trouble for me either way.

Ok, you game is now restarted using the sharivar_noforts mapfile that Caine sent me.

Only the creator of a game needs the .map file, so you don't have to worry about it.

I know we should stay with our original race, but is it possible to change race as well when uploading the pretender? Just checking. I wouldn't change to a race that was already taken, but I was thinking about one of the open ones, maybe changing to one of them.

It is not needed, no matter what you did to it. The .map file only creates the game, and sets the name of the .tga file... which incidentally allows the game creator to do some mischief with it. In KOTH, I used a theater6.map file, and everything worked fine without having it.
If you have changed the name of the .tga file, the players will have to do the same on their end, but that's the only problem I can think of.

Ah, cool. I had thought that the .map file was at least required for the local client to know the neighboring province scheme.
