No FAQ, and no estimated publish date, but we do have some nice rumours and some other hints. Oceania, an official mod that came with the last update, shows the new underwater nation of DomIII. There are some bugs regarding their underwater units changing to land units and vice versa in DomII (think Mermen). The mod changes Clams to WWN, and this is probably what will happen to it in DomIII.

I have also tried to keep up with forum information. I have often forgotten to add things into it, but I don't think anyone else has done anything similar, so you have to be contempt with this:

Ha! It's secret.
Actually it is not in any good shape. We have been bad at keeping the change log up to date. Last post on our unofficial list says:
3rd sep
* New doom horror: Maker of Ruins
* Insanity

There has happened a lot since then, including the random map generation mentioned in the press release.

I hope you noticed that 'New Doom Horror' means that they have just become unique!

Initially we didn't intend for good and evil, holy and unholy to be in the game. Evil is in the eye of the beholder. Unholy was added as an ad hoc solution to the fact that holy priests were more or less useless to undead priests of Ermor (dom1). At that time bless effects etc was handled a bit differently and most of ermors troops didn't have morale. Preaching was also something we imagined the undead didn't do. Therefore unholy priests were added.

Currently you can consider unholy those priestly powers that are influenced by the underworld and the unliving. Unholy has always felt a bit ad hoc. Especially when broken empire Ermor got unholy priests. They were made to be able to preach and reanimate.

Unholy is getting a rework in DOM3. Undead priests have 'unholy' powers of reanimation, but the unholy tag is removed. All priests are priests.

Seems like a good idea to define a half dozen "empty" nations who's only purpose is to be modded (maybe with a set of some empty pretender, hero, weapons, units).

Adding a couple of empty slots is no big problem. Nation modding will be a lot easier in dom3. Themes are made as different nations and most stats can be modded or enabled for a given theme (province defence, production bonus, blood sacrifice etc).


This makes modding much easier!
