Hey, isn't that funny... the ship doing the bombing is a Xiati ship, even though the Xiati aren't IN Space Empires anymore...

Guess they wanted to keep it generic, so it did't look like the same race was doing all the bombing and stuff in the GUI

edit: well maybe they reused Xiati art for the Sithrak or Malfadorians (if Aaron was not kidding in that last chat when he mentioned them)...
Come to think of it, the Sithrak race portrait in Starfury was just a XiChung... kinda disappointing if you ask me
