So long as you have any component intact that generates non-phased shields, all your shields are non-phased. If you have 10 phased shield generators and one non-phased, your shields are non-phased. If a phased weapon penetrates your non-phased shields and happens to destroy the non-phased shield generator, all of your remaining shield points will suddenly become phased.
