Concerning the AMX VCI, it seems after some more digging that unit 90 becomes available as 'loose' vehicles in the misc screen from 1/57 onwards (not 1/54 as mentioned in the encyclopedia) and makes its appearance in mech formations somewhere in '59.

And on the REC, it's currently in the infantry section but shouldn't that be an armor formation?
