Re: A MATTER OF HONOR
If Ermor SG and Caelum RotR are considered to be "weak" themes for their respective nations, then I hereby agree as a matter of honor to take the Tien Chi "Barbarian Kings" theme.

Re: A MATTER OF HONOR
Well, there was recently a thread about how duel between Soul Gate and the choice of nation against it. In the end, it was said that only Soul Gate Ermor can have immortal thugs so early, and they also have lots of free, ethereal chaff that wear down most of what their enemies can send at them in the early game. Soul Gate is definitely not a weak theme, it is at the least tied with Ashen Empire.

Re: A MATTER OF HONOR
Er, I think the recent Ermor thread concluded that SG is perhaps Ermor's strongest theme, especially for 1v1. No idea about RotR, though it would be hard to be better than base Caelum.
Anyway, this is dead exciting. Don't worry about posting trns during the game - why not just keep your own turns archived on your PC (tienchi01.trn etc) and then zip them all up and post the zip file in this thread when the game's over. Then we can download both zip files and see how it went.
There's just the small fact that neither PDF nor QM have taken up the challenge yet ...
Good luck,
CC

Re: A MATTER OF HONOR
Heh, quite a simultanous post.
I'm not sure, but the host might be able to use --postexec to zip each new turn's .trn and fthrlnd files into a new zip. If --preexec exists, it would work even better, and could also copy the .2h files.

Re: A MATTER OF HONOR
Geez Barbarian Kingdoms - dont shoot yourself in the foot before the match even starts At least take S&A?
Regardless, I'll host the duel for you two if QM or someone else actually accepts.

Yeah, I'm the offender, but I won't be able to manage *yet another* game. I've 6 to play and act as sub in 4 more !!
And I'm a French pacifist
Will look at the replay yet : to me Ermor SG ain't that bad, and TC will be hard-pressed to stop them on a small "duel" map.
OTOH RoR is widely renowned for its weakness but in fact I've never played it !

Re: A MATTER OF HONOR
I'd be happy to play a 1v1 against SG Ermor. I'd just need a couple of days to work my early game back up to snuff first.

Re: A MATTER OF HONOR
The challenge was to play Anything v TienChi (played by Zooko). QM implied he would use Ermor SG and PDF that he would use RotR.
And on a side note, I just looked at RotR and its really not as bad as I thought it was. Of course its not nearly as powerful as base caelum with its super cheap mages... but it just seems more normal, rather than weak, to me. I guess the lack of any random hurts.
