Re: OT - quotes
"The genius of you Americans is that you never make clear-cut stupid moves,
only complicated stupid moves which make us wonder at the possibility that
there may be something to them we are missing."
Gamel Abdel Nasser

Re: OT - quotes
"He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword." Jesus
Not the best quote for a wargaming forum, though.

"When I take action, I'm not going to fire a $2 million missle at a $10 empty tent and hit a camel in the butt. It's going to be decisive."

Re: OT - quotes
One of my personal Favorites:
"To punish me for my contempt for authority, fate made me an authority myself." Einstein
From a Soviet-era officers' manual (or maybe it was a WWII German officers' manual; I can't remember):
"The difficulty in planning against the Americans is that their officers never follow their own manuals."

bull, its the perfect quote for a wargaming forum. the man might have meant it as a statement to encourage pacifism, but if you look at it from a Klingon perspective (or space viking, as you may prefer) It encourages a glorious death by which you will attain Valhala (or stovalkor, both of which i probably spelled wrong.)

Re: OT - quotes
"Now I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country" Patton (...the movie. Not sure if Patton the general really said it. But's it's a good quote.)

Re: OT - quotes
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us
attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.
