Nice job
Just wanted to to give props to Shmonk, I haven't seen anyone do well in MP with regular Ulm before.

Re: Nice job
Thanks...
Of course, I just made a BIG mistake. I had to go out of town for a last minute work trip Thursday, and that got extended to Friday. So I get back and check all my turns, thinking I submitted them all before I left.. and didn't submit a turn for this game. I think I made 3 or 4 moves Wed night before leaving, expecting to be back Thursday night to finish the rest of the turn. ARGH!! So I basically did nothing for a turn.
But hey, my treasury is really high this turn.

Re: Nice job
The turns are..taking...so....loooooong!
We are at turn 79 now. Maybe it's just that I'm slow but for the last turn I've exceeded the two hours limit.
Well, win or lose my hopes are for a quick ending.
Though, it doesn't seem likely to happen
so here's to the completion of turn 79

Long turns
I know, I didn't know it could take this long for each turn. Now I can see why people say in the forums that they don't like big maps as much. I mean I'm having fun, but easily 2 hours, because I get distracted, or I think of different things and change all my orders, plus I kind of like the micromgmt sometimes (and other times hate it).
Also, with the holidays coming up these long turns may actually be helpful (if we don't pause over Thanksgiving or Christmas). Or if it ends quickly.
I'll try and finish my turn tonight (Tuesdays are bad for me though).

Re: Long turns
Hate to say guys....but this is a smallish map for the number of players we had.

Re: Long turns
I'd say this smallish map is large enough for me :-)
How many provinces does it have anyway? I wonder how it compares in size to, say, Faerun map.

Re: Long turns
True, for the number of players we started with it was a smallish map. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger the more we eliminate people. Now that we're down to 3, it seems bigger (ie more provinces per player).
And you're right, now I'm wondering if I would enjoy the end game on a Faerun map or not. Talk about taking a few hours per turn. Yikes!
