Is there any way to choose which ships will be in each place? I've tried different things but it just doesn't seem to follow any pattern.

I think I'll drag this thread back to the top.

So, does anybody have any formations that they'd like to be added to this file?

I was try to modify the formations.txt file but the game kept giving me the "can't load file" error. It's driving me mad! Anybody got a solution?

Edit: Forgot to mention, I was trying to add a formation called castle.

Changing it back to 35 doesn't help...

We could use an "Ultimate Formation Collection". Fixes any AI formation problems, and provides advanced formations for new players.
