If this IS truly a bug, do I need to report it to someone? Or do the "powers that be" read this forum?

To me, it at the very least needs to be an option that can be turned off. Maybe a "Ships lose orders when damaged" option in the same section with "Ships lose orders when entering a system with an enemy presence".
