Re: OT: Lurking mode ON
Never really understood this phenomenon. There's always plenty o' stuff going on here to talk about, or just popping your avatar (read:head) in once in awhile to add a comment or insight to a post. If you're going to lurk, why put the restriction on yourself that you won't post? What's the point of that? Some sort of neo-catholic self flagelation? "I spend too much time here, I shall limit myself as punishment." Just hang out man, wtf. If you feel like talking, talk. If you've got nothing to say, then don't.
Same goes for everyone who says "Goodbye, I won't be coming here anymore." Why not? It's free! Does the forum piss you off or something? I doubt it; this is a really nice place. Sure the OT:thing has cropped up a bit more often in this in-between-time, but that's to be expected. On a plus note to that though, there was a marked influx of newbs during the first two weeks of December, and I think that will continue after New Years.
Stick around, share your experience, express your opinions.
This is a community.

Re: OT: Lurking mode ON
it takes time to read and post on boards. some people would rather spend the time doing other things. i fully understand and respect that. I've vanished for months at a time. I may have been gone for a full year, once.
You guys are great and all, but you're not better than sex or beer.
