Re: Neutral Challange on PBW
You know, this idea leans towards the Role Play side of the game. It's not so much that you build up the hugest military and smash the rest of the galaxy but that you play your race properly. I hope MM continues to add non-military functions to the game, like more detailed 'planet conditions' and techs to handle them, so we an have fun with small games that focus on something other than massive conquest.

Re: Neutral Challange on PBW
The Zynarra Holdings has waited DECADES for this opportunity. We are soooo tired of all you guys playing nicey-nice to us at first. Oh, sure, for the first few years it's all buddy-buddy. Trade Treaty, Military Alliances, gifts, star maps to systems that we will never live long enough to see for ourselves... whatever it takes to get to our hard won Ice Colonizing technology.
But pretty soon, after you star-hopping two-faces have bled us dry of technology, finished swapping crappy tin cans for our finest flag ships, and subverted a vast majority of our culture through your insidious spycraft, here come the warships. How many times have we been made slaves by your empire? Shipped across the cosmos to work your facilities? Just because we breathe Methane and we were happy in our own private little Eden?
Enough! ENOUGH I SAY!! NO MORE FISHFACE JOKES! We WILL travel to the stars and extract our bitter vengence!! Onward to victory in our generic shipsets and single-colored flag!!
(p.s. there are still a few spaces left for the game)

Re: Neutral Challange on PBW
There are some really solid reasons for this to be an interesting game.
Because there are no empire points, cultural modifiers, or specialized techs available to the Neutral Races this is probably the most balanced game that human players will play against each other.
It will come down to skill at technological progress, statistical combat, and strategic development.
The choices made DURING this game will be MUCH more important then in many PBW games in which the choices you make BEFORE turn one are often the ones that make or break you.

Re: Neutral Challange on PBW
Boogie on over to the PBW site and sign-up... that is if you think you're up to the Challenge.
The game hasn't started yet, and there were still 3 or 4 spaces open to the very best and bravest Last time I checked.
