I hate to say such things, but there is always alternative methods for viewing the episodes.

As to Apollo, I dunno about this charater. Perhaps its just that I don't like the way that the actor is handling it, or perhaps its just reminds me too much of luck skywalker. Honestly though, I think it is that Jamie just isn't up to the task of acting for this character.

I don't know, I think he is doing a good job. I think he did better in the mini, but he is still doing a good job. I just think they have been kinda wishy washy with his character. From the beginning it was apperant that he was going to be the one that took this whole apacolypse thing the worst, but they can't seem to keep it consistant with who he is and how he deals with it.

Anyways, I wanted to say one more thing about why Adama is the coolest starship commander in all of Sci Fi. He a superior being to death with a flasshlight.

To prove this, I would just like to stick Adama in some scenes from other scifi:

Star Trek: Khan is being smug and going on and on about how he has defeated Adama. So, Adama beats him to death with a flashlight.

B5: The shadows slowly creap closer to Adama, he is trapped on a balcony overlooking a bottomless pit. In his own mind he hears Kosh call to him. "Jump" Koshs says. "Jump." Adama takes on last look at the bottomless pit, then pulls out his flashlight and proceeds to beat the shadows to death with it. All of them.

2001: "Open the podbay door HAL." "I can't do that Adama" Violent flashlight thrashing ensues.

Aliens: Face huger doesn't even have time to detach before adama beats it to death with his flashlight.

Lost in Space: Mr smith sabatoged the ship? Adama pulls out his flashlight and I think you know where this is going......

I'll second your Nuke/Pegasus theory. As for finding Earth, I think they'll find us at our current point in history. Earth will unite and wipe out or at least hold off the Cylons. Hopefully flying motorcycles and Dr. Z are not involved.
I like Starbuck. She can ride my viper anytime. Or Boomer; wait, don't make me choose!

Character I like most: Adama

Character I like least: Baltar

Baltar just makes me squirm uncomfortably. I like Apollo, he's had logical reasons for doing these irrational things each time he has done them, although I can see why folks wouldn't like him. He is the character I think the writers are trying the most to make everyone like. But it has weakened the character.

The thing is I actually liked the Apollo character more in the first season and first part of the second season, but the last few episodes have really damaged the character. Like I said I don't know if it is the acting or the actor, or the quality of writing for the character, but I get the strong sense that the actor is bored playing the part, or the character in general has lost focus and they are trying to hard or not hard enough to build the characters dark, personal, inner self.

Right now Apollo is my least favorite character. But things change.

I like the President as she is a no frills women who's character is only getting better with time.

Above all though, the Cain character was one that I really liked and wish could have stuck around. Something about the way she took control of the show captivated my interest. I was deeply put out about her ending. Job well done to the writing staff.

Baltar, well this character is most assuredly one of my favorites because I am just sickened by him. The character is one that you just loath because the actor and the writers do such a solid job of making the character out to be so loathsome.

The supporting cast is also great. Starbuck is my second favorite character though. I really like the actress and how she plays the character. The writting is also great for the starbuck character.

I guess you can say that the Apollo character is the least interesting one to me currently. I do hope they change this though.

Over all this show is very effective and addictive to watch. Each week I cannot wait to see more. It has been a very long time indeed sence I have had that kind of interest in a show.

Also for Canadian guys...we're about 3 episodes into Season Two.

Favorite Character; Starbuck : Oh yeah!
Least Favorite: El Presidente. She's annoying. Very annoying. Thinks the civilians can have any real power over the fleet...yeah, right. Without the military they'd be totally lost, dead, kaput. Figure it out already.

I predict some of the star pilots will end up on Earth with a group of super kids and cool motorcycles. Once there, they will go camping and run away from the police with their souped-up cycles.

Ok, I've only watched the mini and season one, and am waiting on the first half of season two on my blockbuster subscription... so I am not entirely caught up...

But... I could really see Dr. Gaius Baltar turning out to be a Cylon. Sort of an experimental 12th model, that the Cylons don't have complete control over; they made him too human. In the first season, we know of four of the twelve models: Doral, Leobon, Number Six, and Sharon/Boomer. I put them in that order, because that's the order of humanity I see them to be in. Sharon seems more human than Number Six, who seems more human than Leobon, and so on. Baltar is the epitome of the selfish, narcissistic human, and to me, seems so over the top that it isn't much of a stretch to think that he is what the Cylons believe all humans to be like.

Anyway, it's probably wrong... but what if?
