Problem with worm holes

The other thing that's interested me is protectorate. How it works?
When I try that with the other race they allways decline me.

The only time I got protectorate to work was when I had an AI player as a trading partner and I was dramatically superior to him in all aspects. The AI agreed to protectorate, then to subjugation. It appears to work only when the personality of the race is not aggressive and the alternative would be easy conquest. That seems realistic, but it limits its usefulness.

It would work a lot better with multiplayer.

With the AI, you basically get the extra income plus a Soviet style "Iron Curtain" bufferzone between the real enemies and your homeland

Humans could sabotage your defenses and help your enemies even under a subjugation.
