Re: Incorrect research for Sage?
Isn't this the place to be if you want a MP game? Everytime I mention Dominions to others, I get a puzzled response.

Maybe you'd like to start a new thread?
Any way, besides the MP subforum, some quick (blitz) games are organized in IRC on gamesurge. I don't know much more about that, unfortunately.
Dominions isn't nearly as well-known as it should, even if the community is very fanatical.

Re: Incorrect research for Sage?
and spreading the word can be hard, since a large number of gamers are into more shallow games (such as certain fps games)

You are a pathetic jerk!
I apologize for insulting your intelligence with what you considered to be a dumb question.
People wonder why Dom 2 never took off... people like you are part of the problem. This game is intimidating at first and I enjoy it but if asking a question means opening oneself to ridicule by someone like you then I will keep my questions to myself. And as a result I doubt I will tell me friends about such a complicated game when the official forum is inhabited by clowns like you!
I APOLOGIZE if my dumb question offended your god-like intelligence!

Re: Incorrect research for Sage?
At first, get some manners - or leave this forum.
Second, it took you nearly one year to noticed the reduced research on sages in drain dominion. (At least. Your first post about Dom2 is from 30/03/04) After knowing the game for more than a year, you can't be considered a newcomer anymore.
Third - if you had asked "what's wrong with this, why don't I get the full research", no problem. But you claimed it to be "incorrect", therefore a bug. Thereby you claimed that all other people on the forum, playing the game for over 2 years, have been to dumb to notice such an obvious error.
Btw., who said "Dom 2 never took off" ?? AFAIK it's one of the best-selling games of Shrapnelgames.
Oh, yeah,

Re: Incorrect research for Sage?
Hey, anyone could have a bad day. And, besides that, it's rarely worth it to get angry over few sentences on internet. Without expressions, many things can seem worse than they actually are.
This community, and these forums, have repeatedly been said to be surpsisingly friendly. I don't remember Arralen being that grumpy earlier, either. He also has some real-life problems, which force him to drop out of the very diplomacy-heavy Wyrms game. He mentions having done turns under painkillers...
I understand your reaction, though. I noticed the grumpy response earlier, but thought it was just some badly chosen words. I quess most regulars thought something similar, because hardly anyone commented on that... The fact that no one seemed to care about a random comment like that must have made this seem even worse.

In fact, he didn't post is as a bug. He wondered what it was that he experienced. This was not posted in the bug thread, and it was never stated to be one.
I won't comment on the pretty far-fetched theory you're weaving on the rest of your post.

I think I see why you had to drop out of the Wyrms. It seems you are REALLY bad at writing elaborate, diplomatic messages...
EDIT: You must already have quessed that I started writing the first of these two post before Arralen replied. I could probably just edit it blank, now.

Re: Incorrect research for Sage?
I agree that it can be hard to interpret without seeing facial expressions.
However....
"Drain-3 anyone ?" That comment clearly is meant to embarrass.
"Do you really think we wouldn't have spotted an error like this in the last 2 years? " It is clear from the sarcasm that he believes the questions should not have been asked and that the asker is an idiot.
The correct answer would have been:
"Drain -3 causes this. Glad to be of help!"
Sorry to have inconvenienced anyone but I did not appreciate the sarcasm. I believe that most people on this forum not only know the game well but are eager to help others learn it without putting them down in any way.

(Sorry about the third post)
Tough Guy, maybe it is better that you don't check the last post of the first page of this thread...

I do every turn under PKs.. Anyhow, the nature of PKs tend to get you in a better mood, not the other way around. Just my 2 cents.
