Re: Feeling a bit ... so so / All of my thoughts
The largest map I have tried is 9000x9000 pixels (about 300 Mb) and that works just fine. Province wise there is a limit of 1500 provinces, but I don't see why anyone should want to play on a map larger than that.

Heehee, that statement sounds familiar.
But I guess at some point there has to be a ceiling. We do want the game to run well. How many nations? Well even if its 30 then 1500/30= 50 provinces each before having to go to war. OK, I can play with that.

Re: Feeling a bit ... so so / All of my thoughts
The huge maps is where we also see the heroic abilities as being more valuable since they continue to increase as time passes in the game.
In small maps heroic abilities don't do much unless it's fear or awe.

But you know I would.
Whatever limits they set, I will play them and make them available on my site (and want more).

The obvious reason would be to say that Dom3 has a major fault (such as not being able to support *large* maps)

Re: Feeling a bit ... so so / All of my thoughts
I thought this was an anti-Dom3 thread...
I guess it was, but it sure isn't now. Honestly, I have enough fun playing dominons 2 that more units and spells would satisfy me. Then again, on a 1500 province map playing against one AI, I could wish for one of each unit and fully equip them before battle started. Maybe this will be more fun than I expected.

Re: Feeling a bit ... so so / All of my thoughts
I think the biggest fun in Dominions is to play via TCP/IP on small maps with 4 players. You can finish a game there if all of the players got enough time. PBEM games are too slow, some games take months to complete. I also still enjoy the SP part of Doms2, regardless of the AI problems. I think singleplayer fans like my bro will be happy with Doms 3. We know that some parts of the AI gonna be fixed, also theres the chance to make a decent mod, where the AI will do great. So all in all I just cant wait to get my copy of Doms3. What is the planned release date btw? I heard that it is june, and I hope that it wont be pushed back.
