Re: lord of the rings mod
The Lords of the Rings game from Gameworkshop would be a great resource, as they have a lot of the "non-movie" backdrop fleshed out, and have a somewhat related system (heros, magic, items, troops).
Army of the dead I think is a full fledge army in the TT game.
Anyhow, I have every white dwarf (game related magazine) since they released the game, and would be happy to look stuff up. I am sure there are web resources however that you can use to mine info.

Re: lord of the rings mod
Definetly search for that old thread about making a LotR module. Lots of great discussion happened in that thread which shouldnt go to waste

Re: lord of the rings mod
If people don't mind you taking their graphics from their mods, you could look for the Halls of the Underkings Mod for dwarves, Forest of Loren Mod for elves, and Orcish Empire Mod for orcs.
I most people have their shrapnel names located with their mods so you ask for permission. I'd like to learn how to mod graphics, but I lack the artistic capabilitly to do anything from scratch.
