Re: Gritty Economics Mod - AI compatiable?
I don't think the AI has been set-up to work with the mod, or if it can work if it has been optimized. You'll have to wait until Suicide Junkie (the author) posts.

Re: Gritty Economics Mod - AI compatiable?
Totally, no.
There are a million awesome things in the mod that AIs cannot possibly handle.
- Drone-based repairs
- Size-cubed construction costs vs flat-rate maintenance
- Facility maintenance costs
There's lots more, too.
Carrier Battles mod is a decendent of GritEcon, and now does have AIs available for it, so you can try CB instead.
PS:
PBW is great.
Its just an automated Play-By-Email system, and highly reccommended.
Any particular reason why you don't/won't use it?

Re: Gritty Economics Mod - AI compatiable?
My job and real life annoying tend to get in the way of my games. There are times when I can't play for weeks, and when I do play, I end up suffering from JOMTS (just one more turn syndrome). I would hate to be the shmuck who holds up a game.
