The Vikings continue to outmanouever the Terran defense fleets.

While the Terran main fleet was busy at Tudran VII, two smaller assault fleets proceeded to attack Tudran IV and VI.
Fresh raiders have been spotted on Tudran IV, and a large Viking fleet is blockading the spaceports.

Tudran VI is particularily hard hit, as they have just recently completed their Legacy Infrastructure project, and construction materials are scarce.
Although outnumbered, and with little capability to arm militia forces, the capital city refuses to surrender, for the defense fleets are on their way.



2409.3:
The last of the orbital industry in Tudran has been completely destroyed by Viking raids. The terran defense fleet has managed to catch and destroy the Viking fleet blockading Tudran IV, but the Vikings have struck Tudran VII again, and completely wiped out the reinforcements gathering there.

Another defeat was suffered to the south in Fetid against a minor Viking world; troops were dropped, but before they could capture the planet, the planetary militia had crippled the small assault fleet.
Although the fighters no longer had a base of operations to return to, they were able to destroy all but one carrier in hit and run attacks during the next few days.

The only good news lately, is that the vikings seem to be losing the war by attrition.
Minor skirmishes between the small defense fleets of the outlying military bases and small viking reinforcement convoys has been hampering their ability to replace their casualties in Tudran. And although few ships have actually been destroyed, many of the viking forces have been forced to retreat.

Reports of the Vikings defeat were greatly exaggerated.

The +3 Gamma Fleet was recently annihilated by a far smaller Viking force while trying to break the blockade around Tudran VII

All remaining defense ships have been gathered and are assaulting the position. Although there have been heavy casualties on both sides, the Vikings had fewer ships and are expected to be cleared in another month.

While fighting continues in the south, another viking assault fleet has been spotted heading North to Tudran VI again.
The planetary militia will be no match for the ships, and ground forces continue to battle the troops already present, but the population is determined to resist.

Military advisors say that the planet will be on its own for at least half a year while a relief fleet capable of challenging the Vikings is assembled. Such a fleet is expected to be composed of mainly local defense ships from the eastern rim systems plus a few new vessels from the Huju shipyards and whatever combat worthy ships can be gathered from the homesystem repair yards.
