I'm not using 1.95 either because it says I don't have a version installed to upgrade. Not sure what that's about...

I had that same problem... now if only I could remember how I fixed it...
I think it involved something that Kwok posted on on the Strategy First forums though...

Mucking around with the SE4 registry entries should solve the problem.

What I found was that when I copied an existing install of SE:IV and copied it elsewhere and applied the patch it wouldn't work because the install path in the registry was different than were the correct .exe was.
