Re: Maybe the wait is worth it
Major releases in the last six months spring to mind - Civilization IV and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion - having bugs that shouldn't have made it to consumers. Overall, probably didn't affect sales for these two products. I don't think that Dominions 3 has enough folks buying it to suffer a hit like this. In a community this small all it takes is a few "don't get it, its buggy" threads to kill a title.
I'd rather wait for stable gameplay and evaluate it on its merits rather than instability issues.

Re: Maybe the wait is worth it
I dont think there will be any crash bugs. If there are then it will be from the temptation to add a majorly kewl feature at the last minute. Looking at the progress page.. at most Im expecting to maybe find some descriptions that didnt get filled in.

Re: Maybe the wait is worth it
I think it's a bit funny to think if the wait is "worth it" since our only option is to wait. It's not like they can push out a product that is still by technicalities a version of Dom 2.

Re: Maybe the wait is worth it
But I've already pay for it.
I'm not new to pre ordering: little, high quality houses must have an almost-sure sold base to afford investments.
But it's the first time I'm charged at the moment of the pre-order and not on shipping.
So the pretty talks "Yohoo!! We love to wait! The game will be better and better!!" are a little out of place, since I've bought it already.
After the time they charged it the only thing to do is to haste, it's sad but it's so.

Ah well man, take it easy. We all want to play with the game, but we cannot do anything, just wait patiently.

Re: Maybe the wait is worth it
Hmm, Beorne has an interesting point there. And it is also the point that make us try to finish up the game instead of adding new stuff. New stuff get added, but more on a this issue can't wait till first patch basis. I'm not very good at giving myself deadlines, so an external deadline in the form of presales is good for me.
