MOD Project Interest
I have seen mention on various forums of interest in doing/seeing MOD's for WinSP but have not seen many of these get much past the "here is my idea stage".
Would those of you who are interested in or are currently working on these type of projects like to have a dedicated location to host the data? Maybe an online Database repository on the project where members can edit and build it as a group?
I have never delved into or participated in any real editing of the OOB's or graphic of either WinSPWW2 or WnSPMBT (with the exception of editing units in scenario) so I am not in a position to really say what is involved in full OOB/graphic MOD project. I do know it is no small undertaking but if there were groups working togeher on this it may speed the process up and help bring some of these to a point they are actually complete and functioning. I'm not talking about any modifications to the game engine but doing this to in a way that makes it work around the existing engine design.
I would be willing to offer up space on my personal website and the provide the tools to manage these type of projects if there is enough interest.
Thoughts?
NOTE: Before you post, please understand this is NOT for projects to modify or tweak "Official" OOB's or graphics for WinSPWW2 or WinSPMBT. What this would be for is creating Civil War, World War I and/or future/fantasy type MODs.

Re: MOD Project Interest
That's a very kind offer, DD, and I think that should raise some interest around here.
For one, I'd be glad to have hosting space and community support for my mod, though I don't know if it would fit your criteria, since it modifies only partly the game files. We'll see about that if you can gather enough people on this project.
Keep going!

Re: MOD Project Interest
You would need modify the code base for serious mod. If SPMBT devlopers would make open API for AI, armor, weapon and terrain effects, so that user-compiled dll could be plugged in, like in the Civilization 4 it would be possible. Otherwise I don't see much possiblities for mod.

Btw, talking about ACW mod, whatever happened to "alpha ACW mod files for SPWAW"? Did anyone ever improved them forward?

Re: MOD Project Interest
Not sure. Last I heard it was in limbo and has been for some time.
