Both where made using the same techniques, and therefore the oversized
"Nodachi" (or maybe no-dachi, but most surely
not Nodashi) was considerably harder to make because of the oversized blade, which gave quite a lot of trouble.

Btw., wouldn't the
Nagamaki a more fitting weapon especially for EA Jomon, and all those bandits especially, considering that the shorter blade is easier to forge, and the longer-than-the-blade hilt gives it much more reach and power against all those big-sized monsters in the Early Age?

Yari is depicted wrong, too: it should have a rather short, but straight, two-edged blade, very much like crossbreed of narrow short sword and a stabbing dagger, not the small curved one it has now. Curved (sword) blades where a characteristic of the
Naginata.
