I am of the view that it might add some spicy fun to patch and have a few horrors crash the party for a bit... until the next fix.
Any player strongly against patching?

Yes, simply because it's one of the patches that introduced more, bigger, problems than it fixed.

Re: Patch
To prevent people crying and stop playing because their pretender dies in a horror attack in turn 2 i would prefer a start without the patch.
But here we've the problem that i'm not sure that all players could install a second 3.0 Version of the game.
An illwinter coment about a hotfix would be very good!
EDIT: wrong thread but possible same problem

Re: Patch
I have received all turns for turn 16, but I am going to delay hosting until Tuesday to give more time to discuss whether to patch or not patch. Players seem to be nearly equally split.
Some players would get fixes with the patch. Others are concerned that it creates more problems.

Re: Patch
Ugh! Now, I am coming around to thinking it would be best to NOT use the patch. I know that is very inconvenient for some players. However, it sounds like the horror-bug could seriously frustrate players and spoil the fun.
I know that some players would benefit from the patch's fixes, but I think it is more appropriate to stay with the current "broken" game rather than introduce new problems.

Re: Patch
Well ive already patched aswell (several days ago) so i would prefer to either play with the patch or just wait until there is a fix for the horror bug (however small the fix maybe, just reducing the frequency might help) but in the end, its not up to me.

Re: Patch
It really is not that hard to revert your installation: you'll just need to install the game to a temp directory and copy the dom3.exe to your previous installation. You'll avoid inputting CD-keys, reinstalling maps and whatever, takes a couple of minutes at most, and even less if you can multitask something while the installer confirms itself and copies the files. Take the chance to make copies of both the patched executable and the unpatched one under dom301.exe and dom300.exe in your folder and make suitably named shortcuts to both while you're at it and you can play whichever version you need.
To not be willing to take that measly amount of trouble to secure the enjoyment of those who have valuable commanders on the HoF (like those fellas with their SC-pretenders) certainly sounds pretty petty to me. (Not to mention that having to avoid the HoF with your important commanders that aren't there yet makes for weird gameplay indeed.)
Even if we really fail to get folks to revert, I suggest you go ahead and continue hosting with the old version: At worst someone will get a [censored] up battle-replay when my turkeys attack, and at best no one will even notice.
