The main files that take up alot of the space for the game would be the graphics and sound files wouldnt they?

The component graphics and others would generally be the same from 1.49 to gold, so perhaps if the orginal SE4 install program is modified to install the same graphics and sounds as SE4 Gold then perhaps they can both fit on the CD, and still let people play against older SE4 Versions on PBW, or by email
