Default Re: T90s

sorry been away due to pc trouble. I have no idea what rounds are their with Indian t90s but if they are indian manufactured you could discount their performance by 25% and that might be being generous
I believe the gov. control ordinance factories have a poor record with quality.

I have detail desciptions of the so called t90s+ which the indian army is suppose to standardise to (force magazine). Its apparantly a hybrid between T90 chasis and merk 4 turret! Ill try and post detail of the program in the coming days.

OK, just found this on Tanknet, it would appear that the Indian forces used hybrid rounds made from Russian penetrators and indigenous propellants:

India uses a 3BM-42 (Mango) clone 125mm APFSDS-T. Reported penetration about 500mm @ 2000m. Around 550-560mm @ muzzle.
Out of a russian 125mm 2A46M 50cal gun.

Pakistan uses the Chinese 125-I 125mm WHA APFSDS-T. Penetration about 460mm @ 2000m. Around 510mm @ muzzle.
Out of a Chinese 125mm 48cal gun.

There is no way it can penetrate a T-90 (cast) or T-90A/S (welded) @ any distance frontally.

The Al-Khalid is actually a chinese Type-90-IIM MBT with Ukrainian engine. Turret armour is around 600mm thick with composite construction. Hull is alot lower @ around 450-470mm thick. Compared against a T-90A/S of around 750-850mm thick with K-5 ERA @ the turret and around 700mm @ the hull also with K-5.

Default Re: T90s

thxs for the info. It seems then the modeling in game is not correct for Indiam version on T90?
I had promised to upload news about the T90s+ upgrade reported to be a hybrid tank with T90 hull and a turret similar to merkava 4 and will do so as soon as my PC gets repaired (writing for some one elses comp)

btw: this hybrid tank is suppose to retian 120mm gun from arjun. Makes me wonder if it performs better than the one on T90?
