Default Faerun map? ... and others?

I hear a lot about the Faerun map ... but i just cannot find it. Can anybody point me to a link?

More generally, is the a reputated map site somewhere on the web? This forum is nice to browse, but it it not the quickest way to find a particular map or mod.

Almost all map from dominions 2 can be reused in dom3

You will find list of them on the official illwinter site :
http://www.illwinter.com/dom2/maps.html

There's also Arryn site at http://www.strife.com/dominions-2/files.htm#maps , and it inclue the Faerun map (also the dom2 version, there's an edited .map file for dom3 that has been done and can be found on this forum).

And of course this forum, and the dom2 map forum, are both good source, if you're not afraid to search.

Thank you very much for the information. Could you point me to where on these forums the updated DOM 3 Faerun map is available? I have intensively searched the forums, both "manually" and using the search function.

It seems that compared to DOM 2, there seems to be much less support/resources for DOM 3, both from Illwinter and the community. That is somewhat of a pity.

I think this is more because of that Dom3 is still new, while Dom2 has been out there for a while.

As the author of the Faerun map, I can tell you beyond any doubt that there is, as of yet, no updated Faerun map available. I will make one available for the 283 province version as soon as I get the database of units, weapons, armor, poptypes, magic sites and other stuff finished enough that I can release it (even if the release version is not quite the final version).

The reason for the scarcity of Dom3 documentation at the moment is that frankly, I produced most of the important documentation for Dom2 (units, weapons, armor) that was used both for modding and mapmaking, and I've not had a chance to complete the Dom3 version yet.

On the easily available Faerun maps on Arryn's site, I might also make versions of the 424 and 324 province Faeruns available, but 324 at least is very doubtful, because it is by far the worst of those three in terms of how it plays.
If anyone can point me to an online map of Kara-Tur and the Hordelands, preferably versions that are compatible with the existing Faerun, then we will see a full Toril map.

Edi

The number of maps, mods, etc that are available for Dom2 was spread over years. If you broke that down into how many per month then Id suspect that Dom3 is actually ahead of Dom2. Im sure that we generated the help docs for the mappers and modders much quicker this time so we should see even more soon.
