Re: Flawed User Guides??
Oh I am. My polikarpov spotted your HQ behind your main force; too good a target to be ignored. My Il-2 attack the turn before was simply luck though as I was not targetting your HQ at all.

Re: Flawed User Guides??
Ya I figured the initial air attack was luck.
I'm not familiar with the Russians, was the Polikarpov that initial tank I hit three times with my 88's and it stayed in "ready" status or was that one of your halftracks?

Re: Flawed User Guides??
no it's the spotter plane that went 1 turn before the main strike.

Re: Flawed User Guides??
Paras are not that super powered. Light infantry gear only, no armour, and if your opponent is buying paras, he's skimping elsewhere. So look for his weak spot and strike there.
Always buy AA.

Re: Flawed User Guides??
I remember my first PBEM battle. My opponent was a seasoned veteran of SP; but I had a lot of prior wargaming experience.
I set up a whole company of paras to land behind his lines on turn 7; by which time I figured he'd be committed to the front. I don't know who was more suprised, him or me, when at the end of turn 1 the planes came in and unloaded the whole company.
My paras spent the rest of the battle running around, hiding in the woods and causing chaos; as my main force attempted to reach them.
The battle was a lot of fun, and ended as a draw.

Re: Flawed User Guides??
LMAO!
Excellent sounds just like me in my first or second game where my spotter plane enters from the enemy's side of the board and is promptly shot down
