does that mean you could end-run the "can't know how effective Flames was without a spy" if you paid attention to the mages XP?

I've not been in a situation where I really cared enough to pay attention, but someone more micromanagey than I might be interested in that "workaround" assuming it works.

flames from the sky gives you a report, unlike fires from afar... and it gives kills, not necessarily experience.
