Re: Strange RPG aviability date??
Looking around on the net, I found the following dates:
RPG-7V >1961 single HEAT 330mm 500m
RPG-7VL >1977 single HEAT 500mm 500m
RPG-7VR >1989 tandem HEAT 650mm 200m
TBG-7V >1989 thermobaric 200m
OG-7V >1999 HE-frag 350m
RPG-16D >1970 single HEAT 380mm between 600m and 800m
RPG-18 >1973 single HEAT 380mm 200m
RPG-22 >1985?single HEAT 400mm 250m
RPG-26 >1986?single HEAT 500mm 250m not sure if fielded
RPG-27 >1989 tandem HEAT 750mm 200m fielded maybe 1990
RsHG-1 >1989 thermobaric 200m fielded maybe 1990
RPG-29 >1989 tandem HEAT 750mm 500m optic/800m laser
Might be interesting to correct the availability dates of these items in Russian OB.
Besides, thanks to Don and Andy to release the tandem HEAT feature, it's been a long time request of mine.
Cheers.

Re: Strange RPG aviability date??
You can forget asking for new weapons to be added to the Russian OOB. What you see is what you get. Every weapon slot is full and every weapon is being used in the OOB's.
So you can forget the RPG-7VL
and the RPG-7VR
and the OG-7V
and the RPG-26
and the RPG-27 but if you take a close look at the OOB's you'll find that except for the RPG-18 starting in 1980 the rest pretty much match the dates you provided

Hmmm, is this a sign that the next logical step is to put weapons under a more generic name, across the OOB's? Like Pistols and Sniper rifles are generic.

Re: Strange RPG aviability date??
What?? and ruin the game for all the people who just HAVE to have AK-47's and AK-74's all showing up in the game in the correct year with the correct names? Imagine the howling!. ( That's "detail" man and people just gotta have it or the games not "accurate" )
Look, I'll give you time to contemplate what's involved in combing through the OOB's looking for weapons that could be "generisized" and then think about all the units that would need to be changed and every sceanrio that would need to be checked and corrected and re-issued becasue somebodys "rifle" in a Scenario just turned into a thermobaric launcher.
Not going to happen. All of the RPG's not covered are covered well enough by all the others we already have in the game

Re: Strange RPG aviability date??
"and the OG-7V"
That is only a dedicated HE round for the RPG-7.It would be simulated with the appropriated HE kill rating for the RPG-7 and dedicated HE ammo for whatever unit uses it.

Re: Strange RPG aviability date??
Yes, it could. There are always exceptions that can be adapted but since the game now allows HE effects with all HEAT it's not really a big issue in terms of game play. All it means is if I change one round to HE and take one off the HEAT count somebody will end up short a HEAT warhead when they really need it someday.
Yes, specific units could be made just for that. I'll paste that to my " ideas" list" for future consideration
.......of course you know that means that someday I'll get a complaint from someone that the RPG-7 their unit uses in the game has a bug becasue all the rounds that hit a tank give no effect

lol That's funny. I hope I'm playing that guy.
And you know there are soldiers out there that would make the same complaint to their CO, but with a lot of swearing thrown in...

Re: Strange RPG aviability date??
Don,
I don't mean to start a bonfire the way some others did with TI.
I know Andy did not develop Mobhack for nothing, and if I want to play with the different RPGs not modelled today, I'll do a custom OOB. This to close the "issue".
What I would need though, and was not able to find out, is who uses what. Except for the RPG-16 which seems to be a more dedicated paratroop weapon. What I was looking for too is the date the different RPGs were phased out. If anybody has got the info, just let me know.
Cheers.
