The last bit is incorrect. The Chalice doesn't give the Heal command to its carrier.

Anyways, the chalice automatically has a chance to heal units in whatever province it is currently located in.

Immortal healing is dominion dependent? Haven't tried that much.

The caveat about the 'Heal' command not working on old-age afflictions, the inanimate or the lifeless should be mentioned.

So then if I'm playing Hellheim EA the only way I can remove afflictions other than that global ritual is the chalice?

yes... or the faerie queen if the afflictions are not from old age.
