Re: Looking for a game with semi-experienced playe
I feared I would hear of this solution :S
I don't think I can handle hosting, at least not yet.
Thanks for the hints, I'll try to come back to these forums daily.
Anyone ever thought of some simplified way to produce a list of open games, instead of having to keep up with lots of threads? Or is it not plausible under this forum system?

Re: Looking for a game with semi-experienced playe
Open games dont stay open long enough to edit such a list. Since a game can last weeks, months, even a year.. no server can always have an open game to join.
It doesnt work too badly here. A game that is open usually says so in the thread subject. Then when it starts, the first post is edited to show that the game is closed.

The option of subing, that is jumping in and playing a nation that someone has abandoned is also possible. Im suspecting a sub will be needed in both the "mid era orania" and the "10 player hosted middle era slower game" since one of the players just vanished.

Re: Looking for a game with semi-experienced playe
It is indeed a problem, finding a game, you just have to be on the lookout! They're a bit like buses - I found I was waiting for one for a week or two, then a whole load came at once and it was really hard to not just join all of them in the excitement! Anyway yep, just checking the forums every day (at least, if only briefly) is the way forward.

Don't forget to try the IRC channel if you would like to play a quick blitz, especially on the weekends. Also, I think many players would be up for a 1x1 PBEM game for fun.

Arghaii,
I'd be willing to play you in a 1x1 PBEM game, and am willing to host the game.

I haven't thought about the IRC channel at all.
Solo, count me in: my e-mail is lnikolaidis@gmail.com.
Haven't tried PBEM yet, so bear with me
