I did, but the game seemed to freeze on the map. Is that normal? After about twenty minutes I forced closed it.

Remember that you have to login to the server and download the turn...

IF you logged onto the server it should say Tempest (turn 38) at the top. It also prompt you for your password once you select your nation.
