ATGM AFVs have more ammo, usually 8-12 shots while infantry have 4 shots.
This is the first reason I buy them, the second is mobility

Ok, there's a good point but tell me how do you play with them? Because moving AFVs into hot area or visible puts them on real danger because of hostile MBTs anf ATGM infantry. With poor armor they rarely survive. If you buy both of infantry and AFV ATGMs roster gets too much toward AT weapons. And now I'm refering to basic meeting engagement of course.

You place them in ambush positions, and then displace them backwards after firing to a new chosen ambush position.

It is important to note that in a meeting engagement that many ATGM carriers outpace all but the most recent generation of MBTs. Soviet BRDM-2s outpace most other vehicles in the game for instance. This allows one to set them up in defilade positions before one's opponent arrives on scene, hard to do without costly helicopters or paradrops with infantry ATGM teams. Furthermore, if they survive attacks they are much more able to flee the scene than infantry teams.

I try to keep them out of view of enemy armor as much as possible and use them for ambushes. Once they launch I then displace them to another position before they can be engaged. Since they are usually lightly armored they are vulnerable to artillery fire as well so I try to move them anytime they are spotted or after my initial volley of missiles at the enemy.

When proper ground is given they are even proven handy to cover your advance from ambush positions, being sneaky though

Don't fire them during the opponents face (set range low) unless you expect a valuable target to appear that turn that you realy want to take out. The disadvantage of using them in OP fire is that ATGM firing flashes tend to get spotted easily. The enemy forces then have the rest of their turn to take shots at your vehicle if it's spotted. You can't move it out till your own turn so until then it's a sitting duck. If you fire it in your own turn you can then immediately withdraw out of sight so the enemy can take far fewer shots at you.
At experience 75 the ROF of an ATGM goes to two. So if you have good quality troops they can get off 2 rouns before having to withdraw. Then they can certainly be worth their money as the missiles can often kill just about anything on the field.
When setting up an SP ATGM put it in dense terrain. At least wooded, rough+wooded if you can. It'll make them much harder to spot and hit.

ATGM AFV in a hull down position (dug-in, or in a reverse slope, or in rough terrain) offer extremely small targets and are thus very hard to hit, even with other atgm and modern tanks. However I tend to veer towards small ATGM vehicles, as usually 12+ missiles are not needed for a single vehicle and cost goes up radically with each missile.
