1% maintenance races are just as bad!

Err...do you mean maintenance reduction is cumulative instead of multiplied?

Like say I give all vehicles -50% maintenance, and a race takes 20% maintence reduction they have 30% reduction as opposed to 40%?

Ok so that gets halved too leaving 15%.

But where did you get 5% maintenance races from anyway?

The racial characteristic "maintenance reduction" does adding & subtracting.
The Vechicle/Component ability does multiplication/division.

So if the race takes 20% maint reduction,
25% - 20% = 5%
50% mantenance ability on the vehicle hull:
5% * .5 = 2.5%
Half price on components, makes the total bill come to the equivalent of 1.25% maintenance in Standard SE4
