Re: Icon Scale concerns.
I use "The Greenhill, Armoured Fighting Vehicles Data Book, by Ian Hogg" Which states.
Panzerkampfwagen 4
Krupp-Gruson
Ausf A
Hull length: 18' 4" (5.60m)
Width: 9' 6" (2.90m)
page 87
Not stirring things up, just stating my source.
I hadn't realized that there were different stats out there with such a wide range.
As far as the 250s go. I know those are WAY outta scale, because as you probably already know they are my old stuff. I made those before I was informed of the 1 pixel = 6" scale years ago.
Either way, thanks for the response. If you want to use my new stuff Don let me know and we'll talk about it. If you have read my Pz Ia post you see that 250s are on there.

Re: Icon Scale concerns.
From PZ-IV G model onwards the hull was lenghtened. I do not know to what lenght but 5.92 meters may be the longer hull?
At achtungpanzer
http://www.achtungpanzer.com/pz3.htm
It states: "Ausf F1 was the last of Panzerkampfwagen IVs based on the short version chassis".
My oppinion for icon sizes in general is that it is nice to be able to see the icons well. Sometimes it is good to have some compromises made. Examples of maybe too small icons is the Italian "CV" tankettes and Soviet BA-64 armored cars. They are so small that it is wery hard to see sometimes.

Re: Icon Scale concerns.
But when dealing with unit icons. If you choose to have a scale, scale is scale. If you are gonna go with the other way, NATO icons are best.
But that isn't what this game is about. Its about unit representation. The smaller stuff is harder to spot in the real world too. So its accurate. If the scale was larger, the icons would be larger.
Well my comparision was the short barrelled variants. So by your info its the "short" chasis version.

That same website lists the Ausf D as having a length of 5.92m which converts to 19.42 feet which converts to 38.84
pixels (39 when rounded up ).

Re: Icon Scale concerns.
The Tarrif site lists the Panzer IV (A) having a lenght of 5.60 meters and Panzer IV (C-F) and presumably the long barreled versions too a lenght of 5.92 meters. That would contradict Achtungpanzers info that the hull was lenghtened from model "G" onwards.

Re: Icon Scale concerns.
Well, I wasn't trying to kick up a dispute of resources here guys. Don already said he knows his stuff is a bit large and kept it that way for his own reasons of to match with other outta scale units. I wanted to know if there was a scale change I didn't hear about. That wasn't the case. So that was also rememdied. Only thing remaining now is, Don said he hadn't had the time to redo the bunch of vehicles that are outta up to this point is, if Don wants to use an existing "scaled" set of icons to take the load off of himself. But I appreciate your guys' in put.
