Just how hot is the Second Sun?
Second Sun appears to increase the heat around the world. Does anyone know the mechanism? I am looking forward to boosting my income while hurting everyone else’s income, but want to get a feel for how long it will take.
Linked to this, does anyone know how much, if at all, this boosts the Abyisa heat effect?
Any other side effects of interest?

Re: Just how hot is the Second Sun?
Maybe it works like the Illwinter spell: Every province has a 50% chance of increasing its hotness scale. I know of no secondary effects, but it would help the Abysians in battle, fatigue-wise, against other nations.

Re: Just how hot is the Second Sun?
Ich,
I hope you are right, that is pretty powerful and will really add up. I am guessing that if I can keep the spell running for 14 turns, pretty much every province should be at heat three.
I am assuming that there are seven steps on the scale from cold three to heat three and it moves towards heat every second turn. Not every province is going to start at cold 3, so many will get there faster.
Of course, those pretneders with non-heat domninions would slow it down, but it will still weight on their economy and boost mine.

Re: Just how hot is the Second Sun?
I'm going to make a wild guess here, and say it's not quite as effective as you think it is.
Even if it does tip the scales one towards heat every other turn, the scales probably have the same chance of tipping back towards their dominion controller's scales based on the formula given in the book.

Re: Just how hot is the Second Sun?
I had second sun up once, and it doesn't turn the whole world to heat 3 as I was hoping...

Re: Just how hot is the Second Sun?
So far, it makes anywhere with my dominion shoot up to 3 heat. Where there are different dominions, it seems to be pushing it up, but it is not maxing out. Against C'tis dominion, it is pretty much up at three everywhere, which I expect is due to their slightly positive heat dominion.
I will have to take a turn and scry Helheim, who I am not currently fighting.
As such, my income has increased somewhat and I think I am hurting the others, but the overall effect and value is tough to judge. The King of Elemental Fire I summoned has much more clearly visible advantages!
Any other information on the exact mechanisim and effects of this spell is highly welcome. Right now, I am not sure it is worth the cost, especially on a small map.
