Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
out of everyone playing who has played multi player.
I have played 4 games now.
I have only lost 1 (turn 66
I have only won 2 (turn 235
and one of them ended with 2 players winning (turn 170)
and one just sort of stopped half way (turn 88)
I am currently involved in a long one right now. Turn 125 with no end in site.
I never finished a single solo game. Longest I made it was around turn 400 or so.
So my multi player experence would still be classified as novice for seiv.

Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Phoenix, reason I commented on restrictions was because on all the sites where they talk about PBW an PBEM it seems there is always some kind of argument going on over rules. We don't want that in our game, its supposed to be a fun thing, As far as I'm concerned, whatever is in the game should be allowed, unless there is one thing that everyone agrees on not to let in. We just have to basically pick the parameters for the set up in regards to traits, systems, planets, etc. unless someone really does not want something particular.
Tesco, wondered what happened to sauce, thought maybe security got it as possible terrorist threat, In regards to multi player, as I stated before, I've never played PBW or PBEM before, BUT, I have played Hot Seat numerous times in SE4 and other games. In regards to SE4 I'm on my 4th hotseat game. won 1, lost 2 no respect for the aged, sigh. currently in bad position, my worlds scattered all over the place, and currently at war with Crystals and Cue Cuppa, both AI's. treaty with 2 human, haven't met the others yet. I have played 1 SP game all the way out just to see the ending. Wasn't impressed, nothing as to what I expected, drab in fact. Not worth the time just to see the ending..
Can't wait to start the game, if I Last 50 turns, my imperial navy shall endeavor to transcend the spaceways, looking for the Fountin of Youth, Alien artifacts, collecting specimans of Wolly Bears with little ears and wearing small Custer hats, to obtain furry tigga tails, to enlighten the settled universe of their lost and misguided ways, and to seek the secret of the "Circle the Wagons, better known as the "Gryphin Position",

Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Size = medium (if we go big we need more starting planets or we will have a very slow start)
Type of Map = anything except ancient (I want my empire to be filled with lush systems)
Racial Points = 2000
AI players yes/no = no, they smell funny
# of planets = lots
Tech starting levels = low
# of starting planets = three (more to do in the early turns)
Role Playing Races yes/no = yes
all warp points connected yes/no = yes
Numb of hour turns (example only, 24hr, 48hr etc) = 48 (24 is just too quick, I have to get the turns home)
Any restrictions or whatever you feel should not to be included in the game = sarcasim, leivety and humour
Turn random events off, they are evil
Warp points anywhere are fun

Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Med size sounds ok, but with 8 or more players do you think we should go to large?

Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
My Take IV:
Medium could be good or bad depending on who your naeighbors were. For example, If Growltigless was on my Southern flank, and mac was on my Eastern borders, I'm sure mac would join me in taking out GrowlTigless untill there was only me and him left then < cue theme from Highlander > "There can be only one".
I like medium.

Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
Now, my good Gryphin, the Imperialistic, Psychotic, Scientists of the Tkachik Empire, are peace loving, lovable, cuddly, warm, tender, open minded, creatures who want nothing more then the pursuit of scientific research as previously put foreward earlier in this thread. We wish nothing more then to expand our influence throughout all of space to further our goal of knowledge, which includes researching weapons of mass hysteria, training our ground forces in planet appreciation,
and instructing our peaceful occupation units on the finesse of instilling the proper worship of our mighty minds by those inferior beings upon whom we are forced to take under our umbrella of kindness and fortitude.
(PS. my race is open to Bribes, uhh I mean, offers of intellectual exchanges of resources, tech, money, etc)
By the way, where is the young skally wag, GT? Is he off traveling the the byways of those sit down cafe's, sipping suds and admiring the bouncing sites again???? hmmmmm, He has been awful quiet, not like him....
I'll try and get a re-cap of everyone's votes and comments sometime this week and post here so we can make some decisions on the upcoming Universal Space Bashing.

Re: Gryphin and Growltigga Thread
quote: M'Lady Fyre, Tis with sorrow that I read you would be unable to enjoin yourself within the upcoming bash of planets with all the accompanying mayhem that the universe has never seen on such a galactic scope before, however, do stop in and feel free to comment and join in on any roleplaying banter in this thread inregards to same.
PS. I'd make the old Gryphin take you out to dinner or let him do the cooking, I'm sure you could do with the rest and relaxation.
Dearest Mac,
Having rejoined the beings of the internet(damn verzion phone lines have been down) I come to see your delightful offer and will be sure to comment on the things that I have knowedge on.. your game most likely not being one of them unfortunately.
As for the Dinner offer, I would be most grateful if I could do the cooking seeing that I have never had the experience of Sir Gryphin's culinary expertise *insert silly grin*.
As for rest and relaxation, alas, I fear I shant be able to partake of this extravagance until a aforementioned National Conference (my college is hosting) is signed, sealed, and OVER (please dear God soon!)
quote: Can't wait to start the game, ... and to seek the secret of the "Circle the Wagons, better known as the "Gryphin Position",
Mac.. dear one... they are two different situations Mayhaps Sir Gryphin could elaborate on the fine art of both... then again.. I fear for your heart...
With Devotion,
Gryphin's Fyre
