Re: A Warning...
Heh, Saint_Dude really overestimated the power of Pangaean chaff versus Helheim, not to mention that he really botched the element of surprise and totally crushed any chances of victory with the stale turns. I still say that it's impossible to win this war. Hell, the only way to even win a fight is to just sit there and wait for Helheim to attack, and that's not a very good offensive strategy, and only works to a point.
You know, inability to recruit Pans or any troops unless you get lucky with events isn't a good thing when you're supposed to try to win a damn war. I still wonder how you, Saint_Dude, even thought you could've won this thing, unless the aim was to just get killed fast by staling while Helheim takes everything over.
I should do what Velusion asked me to do and turn this nation AI. ;p Especially now that my job is done, I slowed down Helheim, harr harr!

Re: A Warning...
Indeed, the Tuatha have proven worthy adversaries, and I have underestimated them again. Yet still, their candle burns too brightly I think. A scant dozen heroes now hold the capital, the walls stand abandoned and their gem stores are exhausted. Their prowess will be sung through the ages, but now the time has come to lay down the sword. I urge you, great wyrm, to not throw the last few lives of the Tuatha away in a futile gesture as the drums of inevitability beat on. I have prepared a reservation for you, near the C'tisian reserve. You have earned a well deserved rest, let the last of the Tuatha earn everlasting honor as captains in the Ermorian legion, not be consigned to the footnotes of history as yet another barbarian cult destroyed by the rising sun of the Ermorian empire.

Re: A Warning...
Arco is being stomped into the ground by the super-blessed Niefelheim giants. Only my forts are slowing them down and that's only as long as it takes them to break in. All my neighbors should be prepared for my lands turning cold in the near future.

Re: A Warning...
Sensori, are you insane? I am already making arrangments for the final seige on my capital. I havent won an offensive strike against you in several turns, and you are killing my forces in the south faster than I can recruit.
I am having to sell off my gem reserves just to make ends meet! If I lost to you (a solid lose) when I had 60 sacreds, what makes you think im going to beat your invasion army now, with 30? Now you even have falling fires, and you are the one who is worried?

Re: A Warning...
I may be killing them faster than you can recruit, but you are also killing my forces faster than I can get more, and my forces suck a lot more *** than yours do in low numbers. As my troop count inevitably becomes lower, your chances become better. That's the thing - 400 Maenads is OK. 200 is meh. 100 is omg they die. Not to mention that every time I lose a Pan, I lose more than just a mage, I lose a source of troops.
I find myself unable to GET THROUGH. Time is much more against me than you - every turn you get more Helhirdings, and I get way too few Maenads to fight that.

No, you have. And the current turn amply proves it.
I did that attack just to show you how much you've been worrying about nothing, and what I've been saying is true. Now, I will be putting Pangaea to AI as I was supposed to, because I have sufficiently proved my point - no matter what you've been saying, Pangaea does not stand a chance, and every single thing I've done was just to stall the inevitable. Well, everything but the last attack, because I knew I'd lose before I even did it (originally I wasn't even going to do it because I knew it'd end in a disaster ;p), which is exactly why I did it.
Either Saint_Dude overestimated his power or the stales did Pangaea in, whichever is the truth, I don't really care. At the point I took Pangaea over, winning was no longer an option.
But I still slowed you down, nee-ner!

Re: A Warning...
I think Saint_dude was going to try and take my capital while I was away, busy seiging Marverni. he waited a turn too late or something, because I was on my way back up when he made his first attack, so he wasn't able to shut down my capital.
And yes, that battle was not in your favor. I need the PD, and couldn't really attack you. That why I had low hopes. Even now, after your armies in that area are gone, I go, by gut reaction, to send a followup to attack that province, only to realize that I only have 3 sacreds and about 15 chaff that didn't run away or die. Without massive PD, I wouldn't have been able to withstand any of your attacks and my offense is pitifully small.
You are welcome to take over Helhiem though. I will be away on vacation and otherwise I will probably just set it AI.

Re: A Warning...
Nah, I don't really wanna take over another (soon-to-be-dying from the looks of it, if the neighbors, as it seems, will start abusing the situation) nation in Sophistry. ;p
And saying that that battle wasn't in my favor is an understatement - I lost the entire backbone of the army, as I thought I would. And as I said, I only did it to prove a point, which was that I couldn't get to Helheim even if I wanted to.
And he didn't just wait a turn too long, he apparently kept most of his armies in Pangaea while starting a war with some small scout group. What he should've done instead is brought the entire army there right when you were busy running around after me, crushed all opposition and besieged Helheim. ;p Instead it seems he made his intentions clear way too early, then staled and let you destroy any chances of victory Pangaea might've had.
And I think it'd be only fitting that we both go AI in a quick succession after this thing that weakened us both to a point where we'd be easy pickings.

March a massive invasion force (1000+ backed up by 15 or so Pan and the Gorgon) into the Helheim capital. Script the mages to cast area affect blood and nature spells to take down the glamour and slow down the helherdlings. Script the gorgon to cast summon earth power, and then rain falling fires. I don't think helheim has a direct counter (stealth is another issue). You should be able to take the helheim capital and thus end the helherdling threat.

Doesn't sound like a lost cause to me.

I already had research falling fires before I lost contact with the game. Although only the gorgon can cast the spell, and she may have been lost by my stalling.
