Quick summary of abbreviations.
NIA = New Iraqi Army, the post 2003 Army raised by the coalition.
INP = Iraqi National Police, a mechanized police force mounted on BTR-94/ASV
ERU = Emergency Response Units, basically militias raised among pro government tribes in Anbar and elsewhere.
IP = Iraqi Police, nuff said
FPS = Facility Protection Service, static defense units used to protect fixed objectives etc.
