My point is not that they should be better than 3 tartarian gates, but they should not be conj 9. It is pointless to have a conj 9 national summon cost 3 times as much and be not as good as a 10 d gem summon any nation can get.

Maybe make them 10d gems and move them to ench 5.

Considering that Tartarians are the damn best thing in the game, how would you weigh anything else against THEM for comparison?

not for my money. I will take a gorgon any day.

I think he means for cost effectiveness. I wouldn't pay 120 gems for a gorgon over 30 for a tartarian. (GoRed- 100 vs 10 otherwise.)

The devourer of souls is a singular entity. He is named Ammit. He doesn't bother about cost effectiveness. He only comes if enough death gems is offered him. Ammit consumes souls. He will consume the soul of the one ridiculing him for inefficiency!

That really tends to slop everywhere and make a bit of a mess. Not very efficient.

IMHO, the real problem with the spell is the fact that the Devourer of Souls isn't created as a commander. He could even be a commander without any commanding ability and without any item slots, just as long as he appeared as a commander. If he had any slots, he'd be much more powerful already. I've done a minimod to make the spell summon him as a commander IIRC. He isn't even named Ammit when Gift of Reasoned, he just gets a random name and then will always keep that one.
