Re: The lovable EEE
tesco, I'll have to check a saved game, but I believe The EEE have declared war on me when I hit MEE. They did so diplomacticaly. They even removed the huge fleet they had over a key planet, waited for the next turn and at least canceled the Partnership.
I was pointing out that if you take out the number one or number two player, you could change the rellative positons so much that you would end up with MEE status. If you arn't expecting it, You will have "Bogies on your six and no wingman".

No AI ignores the Meg Evil trait, but I've noticed some interesting variability in when it seems to be triggered. Larger empires seem to be more slow to react. I think it's now got some relation to relative size factored in as well as the threshold of 'absolute' size that triggers it. Since the Eee are usually one of the larger races, as others have noted, they would tend to be one of the later races to react to MegaEvil.

Re: The lovable EEE
I was being sarcastic ( sp pehaps ) sorry about that.
In the pbem games I play we always include the Eee because they just like everyone. So we all trade with the race and they just build huge fleets.
The Eee are a peaceful fun loving race who expand very fast. They are usually the top ranked computer player because everyone trades with the Eee. And everyone gets pissed at the person who attacks them. So the Eee Last a long time. And who wants to kill an ancient race that is poped up by everyone and you know if you attack them then you attack all the human players. ???

Re: The lovable EEE
I ruthlessly exterminate the Eee every time I find them or drive them into an isolated corner and control them.
For some reason, thier peaceful ways make me look bad. So I kill some of them.

Re: The lovable EEE
Ok, those answers help, especially in focusing my thinking. However, I still have some questions.
What will trigger the EEE AI into breaking treaties with someone else? Their overly friendly nature makes them the least likely to do so, but what can I do to encourage them? War is not an option. As pointed out, they are relatively large and the value of trading with them is substantial, which makes stopping the “bad” trade all that more important.
WP closers are well in the future for tech, so it makes the intel option the most promising. Let us see what we can do…
I guess I should have called this thread “Manipulating the Enemy AI to Upset your Human Opponents.” Any hints on how to manipulate the AI peacefully are welcome.

Re: The lovable EEE
Try "communication mimics" on them. This intel operation is quite devastating.

Re: The lovable EEE
Communications Mimic. Only does one thing 'I declare War'
Too bad. I wished it did more.
YOu could have a Partnership , maxed out trading and be brotherly and it is destroyed by the lowly Communications Mimic.
So use that against all your human enemies and computer players that the human players have relations with.
It can tick people off to .................
Personally I think the Communications Mimic should have a list of things to mimic at different costs.
