Default MA Man Bug?

Hi, everyone; I'm a long-time lurker on this forum who's decided to finally register... ^_^;;; I found some kind of bug with MA Man, and I didn't see it on the bug shortlist, so I thought I'd post about it -- I have v. 3.08 of Dominions 3, and whenever I create a game with MA Man, three units show up that I assume aren't supposed to be there: militia, light cavalry, and slinger. I assume this is a bug? Is there anywhere in particular that bugs should be reported? Thanks.

No, it is not a bug. More of a survival from dom-ppp ten years ago. Man can recruit slingers, as can Pythium, and some others. They should probably be given green pants though.

It works for me in a role-play thematic way.
The LA Man feels specialized into an arthurian mode with set jobs and uniforms. MA Man feels like the "just plain Man" nation.

Oh, thanks for the clarification. I did wonder if the slingers, militia, etc. came from some particular nation, since there are several other independants (carnivorous lizards, raptorians, markatas, elephants etc.) that do.

Basically any unit could be available to any nation if it was included in the army list. MA Man just happens to have militia, slingers and light cavalry that can also be found in various independent population types.

Some nations share a fairly sizable portion of their unit lists, for example EA Vanheim and Helheim have the same troops except for the sacreds and commanders.

Are they the same units as the indepts (unit ID #)?
I probably shouldnt question it since Edi would know if anyone does.

Hmmm that could be a problem. It gets in the way of mods that want to make changes to the national units, or make changes to the indepts, without affecting the other.

Ive seen so many units in the files that appear to be the same unit but I have trouble seeing any difference than the ID so I thought those were created to seperate situations like this.

Not a problem. Just clear MA Man's recruit list and re add them, with new ID numbers for the new versions of slingers or what have you. Easy.
