I don't think Atlantis sucks that bad as this is making out. A few points...

-Poison damage helps rout enemies in melee.
-All units but trampling lobster are amphibious.
-Mages can bring knights underwater.

Atlantis is weaker than Ryleh without any doubt though. Ryleh is almost custom designed to beat Atlantis.
