Re: Strange battle results
Loren is right. Attackers auto-rout on turn 50 but berserkers will still fight. Defenders auto-rout on turn 75 but unconcious mages can't retreat. I think the auto-kill is turn 100.
As for battle 1, could he have died of fatigue? Perhaps hit by overlapping cold auras without 100% resistance?

Shovah, the commander was at full health and without any sign of harm at the end of the "movie". I know the lasting effects like poison, fire etc. can kill a unit after the battle is already won, but you could observe that.
Nevertheless, if Jazzepi is right then the battle had different course than shown in the replay.

Re: Strange battle results
I've had the opposite, in which one of my thugs was killed in the battle replay but was still alive in the overland map. It just happens rarely.

It's true, I've played many games of Dominions_3 and have had different battle results in my favor and others go against me. I estimate one out of 500 battles have mixed results. Anytime a battle shows my commander/mage die yet the end result has him alive I figure my commander/mage faked his death on the battlefield and fooled the enemy. Anytime a battle shows my commander/mage survive yet the end result has him dead I figure my commander/mage either had a heart-attack, committed suicide from the stress/horror of war or deserted my cause for godhood.
In any case, it happens so rarely I've never made a big deal about this minor calculation bug. Dominions_3 does have some major bugs(RED) which hopefully get addressed in upcoming patches for our community.

Re: Strange battle results
If the turn was compiled with version 3.08 and then looked at in version 3.10 that could explain why there is a missmatch. Or any other otehr versions. It could also be that a mod was used but the mod file on your computer is different from the mod file on the host computer.

The version is 3.10 from the start of the game, but mods are older. Can a mod influence the game that way?

Re: Strange battle results
I've noticed that I am more likely to lose a commander inexplicably if both sides are attacking and the battle takes place in my province. The other times may well be when both sides are attacking and my troops moved first, but there is no way to tell that. I don't think I have ever seen an unexplained commander loss against an indy.
