my experience w/ the old cb mods and 3.10 is that the spell mod and the nations mod give an error, but the simpler pretender and scale mods don't. oh, and if we were to have until next weekend until we started (since i have no experience w/ late game nations, and would need to experiment on a pretender a bit), I'd consider (against my better judgement and all that is holy) joining in the fun
