Re: Placeholder for new Megagame - Evermore
Hey, MA Ermor, Lanka? Which one of you wants free provinces?
Come right in and take some from LA Ulm! I know we have NAPs, but don't let them stop you! I'm going to go AI soon enough anyway.
In all seriousness... I've regretted taking this subbing job from day one. It was kinda funny waiting for some idiot to realize that I can't do jack sh*t against attacks, because the player who made this nation basically took EVERYTHING which would cripple LA Ulm (and quit over this from the looks of it, it wasn't hard to tell from the first glance on the nation - if I had botched my nation THIS BADLY I would've quit too, but I was subbing so I figured what the hell). No Sanguine Heritage thanks to bad choices on the Pretender (lol national mages can't cast it lol), 3 Drain for maximum research loss with already not too good mages (lol LA Ulm doesn't have mages that can research in drain lol)... I think the original player left at least a few hundred Pretender points unused...
What else can you ask for?
EDIT:
Omg, he didn't leave them unused. He just used them badly. Whee.

Re: Placeholder for new Megagame - Evermore
meh, i gave you warning - which i did not have to do - and you indicated you thought it would be a fair fight - and i'm subbing as well. no need to be pissy about it, it's just a war

Re: Placeholder for new Megagame - Evermore
I indicated I thought we're both going to die (as opposed to winning the entire game) and I still think so. That has nothing to do with the fight being "fair" or not. I also indicated that you are being stupid for making it easier for others by weakening yourself. And I knew you are subbing, too bad that has nothing to do with anything. There's a difference between good and bad situations you can sub in - I just happen to always land on the bad ones. This, however, was the WORST of the crop by far. At least earlier I have had some chance to fix what had gone wrong, but this time... There's absolutely nothing I could've done. I tried to get researching outside my dominion, but other people's dominions didn't spread inside my borders fast enough to do that.
As for me getting "pissy" over you attacking me... You can think that if that makes you feel better. I just want to get out of this game, and I sure as hell don't want to help you in the process. I'm proving the point of my message to you here. If you want war, that's what you're going to have - just don't expect me to go quietly and/or without strengthening your to-be-neighbors (and weakening you) in the process.
As you yourself so aptly put it, it's just a war.
(And if I'm pissy over something, it's this bullsh*t nation I've been stuck with. Rarely have I seen so many things going wrong in one nation, and all due to the original player's choices which were based on MA Ulm, which LA Ulm *gasp* ISN'T.)

Re: Placeholder for new Megagame - Evermore
yes, do as you wish - its just a war w/ subbed nations :-)
but asking people to invade you... after one small battle, which you could easily have avoided, and the vast majority of your forces intact having lost 1 territory,... you know, that's the pissy part

Avoided, how? That's kinda funny. You are saying there's something I could've done to stop you from attacking?
That's just stupid.

Yeah? Guess what? I know I can't win (a war nor the game), and the war you chose to start was just the last nail in the coffin. Could as well make sure BEFORE I have lost all my lands that you don't get them all.
Why *wait* for death when I can have it in a few turns?

Re: Placeholder for new Megagame - Evermore
oh, whatever sensori. its just a game. I gave you a one turn warning; you surely could have retreated your pretender from right in front of my army. you didn't. I know how it feels, but I had to do something to try and improve my position.
