				 Questions about Curses and Healing
What exactly are curses and how do you remove them? I see reference to them occasionally in the manual and I forged a magic item that I cannot remove because it's Cursed, but I haven't yet found an explanation for what these curses are or -- more importantly -- how you cure them.
Are curses simply a form of affliction that can be cured by other units? I know that there are some Arco units that heal afflictions. Is that what it takes?

Re: Questions about Curses and Healing
Okay, it's pretty simple, if you examine one of your units and it has a hexogram symbol on its list of abilities it's somehow been cursed and will suffer a high chance of gaining afflictions in battle, this is permanent and can not be removed.
As is the same with Horror Marking except that attracts horrors instead of causing a higher chance of battle afflictions.

Now as for item cursing, some items with curse the user and the user will be cursed for the rest of their life with an easier chance of obtaining battle afflictions.

Other items that are cursed in that you can not remove them is different, it's not really a curse, it's more of, you touch this item and it's molded itself to your skin, or something like that, it depends on the item, this too is permanent, unless if you bring a hero back from the dead with Ritual of Rebirth or if your god dies and is immortal and comes back it will lose the items or if your god dies and you call him back.

Um, can you understand all that? sometimes I over complicate things.

Re: Questions about Curses and Healing
There are two kinds of curses.
A cursed item cannot be removed. If you die, you drop them (and cursed items are more likely to be found), and changing you shape/casting Transformation/some other strange tactic might work.

There are also the spells Curse, Spirit Curse and Doom which vurse units and commanders. This kind of curse makes them more likely to get afflictions. This kind of a curse can't be healed either. However, you can heal the afflictions it causes, or just make sure you mage doesn't get hurt. Curse doesn't spontaneously create afflictions, it just makes wounds more likely to cause one.

Oh, I also seem to recall that once many of my forces were being cursed but occationly became permanently ethereal, I'm unsure if this was a bug or a side effect of a curse. |

That sounds really strange. Were you playing with EA Oni Kings? The Oni all have a second, 1-hp ethereal ghost form. If that form manages to survive the battle, they'll be back to full health again. |

No, I was playing as Tenchi, I forget which age, but it's kinda irrelevant which age cause it was happing to the Celestial Soldiers, some of them might have been bodied etherealed and somehow that might have stuck. |

 | Curses and Horror Marks are both permananent, but I believe horror marks have a severity associated with them too? If you are lightly horror marked then you will not be attacked often. But if you are heavily horror marked you will be attacked more often and by stronger horrors. |

"If you die, you drop them (and cursed items are more likely to be found)"
Would it then be possible to outfit an expenable commander with cursed items, throw them at, say, an SC and then let the computer outfit any of his/her empty SC slots with the cursed items? Just a thought.

Re: Questions about Curses and Healing
Against an AI SC it will work, but the AI doesn't really use SCs.Humans would probably fill up their SC's slots, so it wouldn't pick up the cursed item.

Also, the strategy doesn't work as you described it.
Since the items are cursed, whatever commander finds them also gets to keep them for life (They are cursed, he can't remove them.), so its not so much the computer outfitting his SC's empty slots with cursed items, but rather that the SC is forced to equip them since he is the one that found them.
Though if you really want to, you could probably send all sorts of cursed gift items to the AI, it might not be smart enough to know better than to equip them on inappropriate commanders.
Just remember that even cursed items usually have some useful function; You might not be able to remove that Eye of Aiming, and it may just "Lost an eye" you, but it still improves precision. (Just don't equip two of them at the same time, that's counterproductive.)
