Default Mod question

Can a weapon have more than one Weapon Damage Type assigned to it in the components.txt file? If so, how do you do it, on the same line or with multiple lines?

For example, I want to give Ionic Pulse Missiles both Engines Only and Skips Armor. This would simulate them flying up the tailpipe. Thanks.

I dont think its possible to have multiple damage types on the one component, u can simulate some things though by giving the component extra abilities

IIRC engine targeting weapons and weapon targeting weapons skip shields and armor anyway so u already have that ability

I didn't know that. Where can I confirm this? Thanks.

You can build on and try it. When you see the ability "Damages only ..." It means it damages ONLY that component and ignores any armor or shields. Applies to engine damaging and weapon damaging weapons, as well as others if there are any. Armor and shield skipping weapons on the other hand skip the armor or shields and then can damage any component.

Devnull mod has a "Tachyeon grid" which acts as armor against the weapon damaging weapons by giving an armor component weapon ability with no damage. Since it's a weapon it gets hit by the tacheyon cannon, and since it's armor it gets hit first, sparing the other weapons.

OK, thanks. Sure would be nice if we had a manual that explained these things.
