Is there a new map file that we need to download?

I haven't put the new .map file into the zip yet. You don't need it to play the game though , only to play around with the map before the game starts.

(the new .map file only fixes the sea players start positions).

I actually would not mind running a test game on the final map before the game starts. can the final version of the map be linked on the 1st post of the game thread?

If you are a land based nation the current .map file will work for you. I'll put the new one out tonight though hopefully.
